First Visit FAQs
What should I wear?
When you come for your first appointment, we ask that you wear loose fitting clothing, as these make treatments a little easier. We always have gowns and towels if needed, as well. And for the comfort of all of our patients, please refrain from wearing perfume.
Should I eat anything before my visit?
We ask that you have eaten a light breakfast or lunch – please don’t come with an empty belly!
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture should not hurt. Occasionally you may feel a stronger sensation at a certain point, but the goal of our treatments is to provide a painless, relaxing experience, so that your body can rest and recover as intended, without pain!
Insurance FAQs
Does my insurance cover acupuncture?
Most all insurance policies have some level of acupuncture services that are covered. However understanding if you will need to meet your deductible first before your insurance will pay for the services is the biggest question to ask your insurance company. Also, some of the services we provide may not be covered. We do our best to verify coverage prior to your appointment, but be aware, if specific services are not covered the responsibility to pay for those services is the patient's responsibility.
How many visits are allowed?

Will Columbia River Acupuncture verify my coverage?
Yes, please call our office and be sure to have your insurance information handy and we will do our best to verify a patient's insurance coverage.

MODA, PacificSource, PacificSource Medicaid/OHP, PacificSource Medicare, BCBS/Regence, Tri-West, Community Health Plan of WA, Providence and others.
